Wealth, Fame, Adventure, a good drink, and a good brawl.
Likes the company of those with similar interests and strong personalities. Anyone from battle-hardened adventurers and mercenaries to other pirates and thieves.
His preference towards women are similar, having more of an eye for tougher ladies. Personality and chemistry always wins, but it helps if she knows how to throw a punch that can do some damage. While he does have preferences in races and builds, they are certainly not requirements in the slightest.
Dislikes
The Empire. Has softened up to Garleans as a whole, but the Empire itself is still great for target practice.
Serpent Reavers. Kagato's hatred towards them is unyielding.
Overly Coy Individuals. Nothing interesting ever happens from an abundance of reluctance.
Stuffy 'rules-and-regulations' types. Kagato isn't one to play by the rules all the time and tends to go his own way. Now if you're this type and you're actually looking for a chance to finally let loose and break some rules, then I'll be interested!
The Story so Far
History
Kagato was raised in Isari by a Roegadyn couple who found him abandoned on shore. Details of where he truly comes from is a mystery even to him.Growing up, he had befriended many who would teach him the ways of a Sailor. The most influential was a group of Sea Wolf Pirates and Treasure Hunters who he considered to be a second family to him: The Tidebringer Pirates. They took him on several adventures to surrounding Islands of Othard and Eorzea, always with some new ‘get rich quick’ scheme due to some new insane idea the Captain always thought up. It wasn’t always a successful adventure. Things become absolutely dangerous numerous times for a kid his age, but the thrill was enough to keep him wanting more.One day, the Tidebringer Pirates had taken off on another one of their grand adventures towards Eorzea, but Kagato was asked to stay behind since the area was deemed too dangerous for him. So Kagato remained home and waited… and waited… for years. They never came back.Kagato was unconvinced that they had met their fate. He obtained his own ship and named it after the missing crew. Gathering a small team of his own, he set out to find them, having grand adventures along the way.However, that's the story he's willing to tell. Kagato has a bit of a condition that he's not willing to admit..
Current Story
Kagato is the Captain of a merry band of unknown Treasure Hunters and Fishermen. Still relatively a nobody, he's often not taken too seriously when it comes to grand tales and flights of fancy, though he himself is to blame. Often witnessed as a bumbling and clumsy individual, he means well and does have the occasional stroke of genius.As Captain of his team, he does portray certain levels of leadership and martial skill with a Great Sword and Pistol, and is actually quite skilled in a kitchen... despite his rather odd methods.He has recently been taking odd jobs in Schools and smaller Companies as a trainer of Combat and Cooking in order to help make ends meet, training budding adventurers on how to protect themselves in the dangerous wilds. After all, who better than someone who's entire career is centered around Adventuring... even if he constantly trips over his own feet or accidentally falls out of windows? Perhaps it wasn't such a bright idea, or perhaps that's just what he wants them to think...Why take the job? Resources! Vast libraries of knowledge on treasures and hidden tomes! He can't exactly find the ultimate treasure without resources to find them, right? He'll often be surrounded in books on his free time, reading. Searching. Though he dare not share what he's looking for. Can't let someone else get their hands on it...

General RP Information
All RP is welcome. Casual, Story, Mature, Dark, and ERP. However, please note: I'm not a fan of random hook-ups with someone's level 3 ERP alt from the Quicksand. I'm looking for something with more foundation.

By default, I stick to Lore. However, I am willing and welcoming to those who want to be less lore-abiding, so feel free to be creative.
Uses standard Grindhouse style rules for brawling and sparring RP unless otherwise discussed.
Kagato's character power is designed to be scalable. I understand some people want their characters to be extremely powerful while others want to remain more restricted. My character is designed to fit easily in both scenarios depending on story, theme, and players, so again, feel free to have fun! However...
I'm against god-modding or other instant-win engagements unless otherwise discussed and agreed to.
Hooks
Kagato is an active Adventurer, Sailor and Treasure Hunter. If your character deals with Pirates or Treasure, there's a good chance he'll be interested.
Looking for a spar or a training partner? Kagato is always looking to improve himself and get even stronger.
He's a bit of a gambler and often likes placing wagers on various things. Often carries around a deck of cards and set of dice.
Kagato is both a happy drunk and reckless drunk, so if you're looking for some comedy and ridiculousness, invite him to get plastered with you. Can be combined with gambling for a fun and light-hearted drinking competition.
He may be a bit clumsy or stupid sometimes, but he can swing a sword and take a hit. Feel free to hire him on your next adventure, hunt, or various other excursions if you need the muscle, or companionship. NOTE: This also counts for real content in-game. I'm quite experienced at tanking.
He is on a personal journey to find forbidden books and texts containing outlawed magic and alchemy. He keeps his reasons to himself, but it appears to be more important than even riches and fame to him. Makes him a great companion when dungeon crawling for magical items and ancient books.
He has a vendetta against Primal-worshipping people and beastmen, though his hatred towards the Serpent Reavers is the most extreme. If dealing with Primals or Primal activity, you can count on him to play nice.
